1. What does "level of care" mean?
XXXLevel of care simply refers to the amount of help a resident wants and needs. A person may require assistance with scheduling doctor's appointments, making certain that medications are taken as prescribed, preparing meals, and obtaining dependable transportation to and from doctor's appointments.
XXXAnother person may need professional nursing care, help with bathing and personal hygiene, or rehabilitation therapy such as physical, occupational, speech or respiratory.A number of our residents need no assistance, but simply prefer living independently in a safe, secure, and well-kept neighborhood, and making friends with those with similar interests.

2. Who qualifies for residence?
XXXAny senior adult who desires to live in a safe, secure neighborhood administered by a professional and caring staff. A resident can be as active and independent as possible while taking advantage of the many services available throughout the campus.

3. Does Gordon oaks accept persons with Alzheimer's Disease or senile dementia?
XXXYes, we do. In fact, our Healthcare Center has been approved by the State of Alabama Board of Health, Division of Provider Services, for its Alzheimer's Disease Pilot Project for Assisted Living in the south Alabama area.
XXXOur 24-bed, approved facility provides highly trained personnel and accommodations specifically for Alzheimer's Disease and senile dementia patients. We request that any prospective resident be evaluated to determine what
level of care will best ensure his or her personal safety, and provide the highest quality of life.

4. Are your staff members certified in their respective fields?
XXXYes. We employ registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants, licensed physical therapists and licensed physical therapy assistants, licensed occupational therapists, licensed respiratory therapists, registered dieticians, and licensed recreational therapists. Our administrative staff members are thoroughly trained, and have extensive experience in all areas of eldercare.
